Program Overview

“How to Hold Your First-In-Human trial?” is a clinical trial workshop bringing together experts in the field from Johnson & Johnson, CROs and research centres to discuss advantages, challenges and experiences in running trials around the globe.

 

The content will include insights in study design, cost/incentives, speed, quality, the participant pool, communication and language, partners, your market, the standard of medical care, data integrity, and also regulatory aspects to consider around ATMPs, vaccines, and other applications.

The workshop is part of an initiative to bring more programming, training and support for the Dutch life science innovators through Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS. Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS is a premier life science incubator program and a global network of open innovation ecosystems, enabling and empowering innovators to create and accelerate the delivery of life-enhancing health and wellness solutions to patients around the world.  As a leader in innovation, JLABS helps entrepreneurs in pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer, and health tech bring healthcare solutions to patients and consumers.

Adam Cohen

Director, Centre for Human Drug Research

Ivan is an associate at Inkef Capital, he joined the fund in Jan '19 after receiving MBA degree from the INSEAD business school. Ivan holds a PhD in genetics and has 10 years of experience in applied and fundamental biological research, during this period he was also working with a Brazilian biotech startup. In 2015 Ivan joined Sanofi, where he was working in strategy and business development roles. He was also exposed to the digital health space thanks to his advisor role at Akeso, a startup working on the analysis of electronic medical records and Real World Evidence data.

Aernout van Haarst

Director Scientific Affairs, Celerion

Luc Sterkman obtained his Medical Degree in 1988 at the Free University in Amsterdam. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the fields of general management, business development and R&D. As the CEO at Caelus Health since January 2016, he has overall responsibility for building and directing the company in the next phase of growth and further expanding its pipeline of new microbiota-based products in the field of cardio-metabolic diseases

Roel is a Kauffman Fellow and passionate about continuously challenging the status quo. Roel holds a Msc. in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University and an MBA in Finance from the Helsinki School of Economics
